FH-02 // MIDI TIMING CALIBRATION

Verifies that MIDI timestamps and the audio clock are accurate enough to score groove microtiming, and measures your rig's offset.

1 · Device

Hit any pad or key to confirm input. Web MIDI needs HTTPS or localhost.

2 · Clock domains

MIDI timeStamp domain
Handler lag (timeStamp → JS), median
Handler lag, worst
Timestamp resolution
Strikes sampled0
Hit a pad ~20 times, hard and fast, to sample the input path.

3 · Audio output clock

Sample rate
baseLatency
outputLatency
getOutputTimestamp()
Playhead → speaker

4 · Tap test — your rig's offset

Play along on ONE pad for ~16 beats. Play where it feels right — don't chase the readout.
Taps counted0
Mean offset (− early / + late)
Consistency (SD)
Correction — your hits shift this far
Run the tap test to measure the round trip through your ears, hands and hardware.

5 · Calibrated devices

Each controller keeps its own offset — a pad and a weighted key register at different points in the stroke, so one shared number would be wrong for one of them. Re-run the tap test after changing headphones, audio interface or machine.
